More W.I.P. Images of My Latest Bike Model

Here are a couple more images of my progress on the “Generic Sport Bike”. One of the challenges with this model is knowing when a part is done. It’s easy to get carried away with the details.

In the images, you can see the “rear hugger” and the tail Read More

Turbocharger (Untextured)

Here are a few images of one of my latest models available on TurboSquid:

Feel free to check out the full listing and let me know what you think of it in the comments below. I’m always grateful of honest feedback.

New 3D Model – Blade mSR Micro R.C. Helicopter

The Blade mSR is by far my favorite RC Helicopter. It’s fast, durable, fun & charges quickly. On a calm day you can fly it outside, but on windy days, I guess you can make a 3D model of it.

The detail distribution of this model is not great. Looking back on the Read More

Final KTM RC8 3D Model

Here they are; the final renders of the RC8 model! My next step will be UV mapping and texturing. Read More

RC8 Surface Renders

One of the pivotal points in a model is when I start to render it. Rendering a model (using the right shadowing and occlusion) will let you know what parts need more detail and what parts should be ignored (in terms of adding more detail).

In the images below you can see that certain areas are starting to be filled in with shadows and don’t really require additional details. Read More

Second Image of the Unnamed (Now KTM) Bike

At this point it shouldn’t be much of a guessing game if you know your bikes.

This bike is very distinctive, and thus far the most challenging thing for me is the fact that it’s a v-twin and I’m having trouble judging the distance between the engine’s cylinders and the fearing. From certain angles it feels like the gap is too large. Read More

First Image of My Latest Bike Model

Can you guess what bike it is?

Update: I’ve outed the bike in a more recent post, so we all know it’s the KTM RC8.

2006 Buell XB-12R 3D Model

The Buell XB-12R. A thumping V-Twin, monster torque and American muscle all packed into a sport-bike package. This model was commissioned for a client who had certain specifications in mind. The polygon count needed to be higher that my models in the past, especially in the wheels and brake rotors. (the renderings of the bikes shown use their low-resolution alternatives) Read More

Y2K ZX-6R Ninja

The Bike Behind The Model

I rode a ZX-6R Ninja exactly like this one for nine months before a reckless driver hit me head on. I survived the crash, but as you’d expect, my Kawasaki was reduced to a heap of twisted metal. I managed to leave the scene of the accident with no broken bones or major injuries.

I completed this 3D model and garage scene only three months earlier, and although cliché, I feel that my bike lives on through the 3D model and renders. Read More
