Cinema 4D Motorcycle Chain Rig Walkthrough

Here’s a video walkthrough of the motorcycle chain rig I recently posted. I’m trying to create more screencasts as I think they have long lasting value, just as a blog post like this one does. The main purpose of this walkthrough is to accompany the download for this rig available at TurboSquid. The video below walks you though the modifications necessary

Freebie: Cinema 4D Motorcycle Chain Rig

A simple Xpresso motorcycle chain rig for Cinema 4D. This rig was originally created for some of my higher polycount bike models. Its purpose is to provide an easily poseable motorcycle/bicycle/chainsaw style chain that uses Instances to replicate the links.

The length of the chain can be adjusted by adding additional link instances, and the spline that the chain rests on can also be easily manipulated and animated. There is also an animatable value that can be used to make the chain progress.

Featured Model & Interview on TurboSquid

Recently, TurboSquid has been featuring their artists on the home page of their site and posting interviews n their blog.

I was lucky enough to be chosen for a feature! My motorcycle model was paired up with another talented artist’s motorcycle rider model, and they were rendered together for a Read More

Final Gallery for the 2000’s Generic Sport Bike

My first generic sport bike is finally complete, and there’s not much left to say about it. Check out the final (for now) gallery of images for this machine. Do you think I made a good looking bike here? Does it remind you of another bike? Let me know by commenting below. Read More

Another image of my Generic Sport Bike

I’ve been working on this project for a long time. It’s very close to being finished and I wanted to share a render from the end of the modeling phase. About 99% of the geometry is completed at this point and I’m about to begin the texturing phase. Unlike my previous models, this bike will not be fully UV Mapped. The model uses geometry to tell most of the story instead of heavy use of texture maps.

Turbocharger (Untextured)

Here are a few images of one of my latest models available on TurboSquid:

Feel free to check out the full listing and let me know what you think of it in the comments below. I’m always grateful of honest feedback.

Books & Bookshelves 3D Models

The images that follow are some renders of one of my latest products on TurboSquid.  I created these models as a texturing exercise, but I think they make good assets for sale as well; they are all UV mapped.

New 3D Model – Blade mSR Micro R.C. Helicopter

The Blade mSR is by far my favorite RC Helicopter. It’s fast, durable, fun & charges quickly. On a calm day you can fly it outside, but on windy days, I guess you can make a 3D model of it.

The detail distribution of this model is not great. Looking back on the Read More

Final Gallery For the KTM RC8 Model

There’s not much left to say, so here are some beauty shots of the KTM RC8 model I’ve been working on for the past 3 months. Read More

750cc V-Twin Engine Low Poly Model

Here are some renders from my latest model, a 750cc V-Twin (water cooled) engine. Unlike the Harley Davidson engines you’re used to seeing in the V-Twin configuration, this engine, like many other SuperMoto engines, is water cooled; hence the lack of those distinctive cooling fins.

Dorsoduro Supermoto

The Dorsoduro Supermoto was a bit of new ground for me. I’ve modeled a Supermoto before, but not like this, and not in Maya. The engine of the bike is largely exposed and that meant it had to look good, but I was also shooting for a reasonable polygon count.

A large number of key components are modeled using four sided polygons or “quads”, enabling them to be smoothed programmatically.
